I’m the Clinical Director of NK Active and I’m passionate about helping and educating people to be more in control of their training. I started out in the NHS before progressing to private practice and running my own clinics. I have a vast range of experience; treating patients who are recreational runners to elite athletes.   I was a sports podiatrist at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and I’ve joined the Salomon think tank team as one of the five specialists from around the world. When I’m not in clinic, I’m usually on the hockey pitch, playing sport or spending time with my growing family.

PhD BSc (Hons)   Podiatrist / Clinical academic
I love meeting new people and helping them. Whether the end goal is to walk the dog, play with the grandkids, run a marathon, or compete at an international level, it’s a real privilege to play a part in someone’s rehabilitation journey.      Through my experiences in the NHS, academia, and the private health sector, I’ve developed a love for helping people overcome lower limb conditions, using ultrasound imaging to look at soft tissue structures and calling upon my research in musculoskeletal health to support our service here at NK Active. Outside of the clinic you’ll find me cycling, surfing or practicing Yoga.

My career spans both the financial and administration sectors, and I’ve worked in various organisations over the years; most notably at Hampshire Constabulary Police HQ and at the Australian Trade Commission. I’ve been at NK Active for over two years, dealing with day-to-day clinic operations and patient communications. When I’m not working, most of my time is taken up with the boys in my family – I’m based in the New Forest with my husband, two teenage sons and our West Highland Terrier, Monty (who loves a long forest walk).

Following a lifetime of working in the insurance industry, where I gained my professional insurance qualification, I decided it was time to do something different. I enjoy helping people so NK Active was the perfect fit; I love meeting and talking with our patients. My husband and my three sons play many different sports and have had their fair share of injuries over the years, so I find it very interesting to see how the team help others with similar injuries and manage their recovery and rehabilitation.

I’ve worked in healthcare for 25 years, mainly based in an operating theatre department at a private hospital. I enjoyed the challenges that a busy hospital presented and spent 18 years there before working at a GP practice and eventually joining NK Active. Outside of the office, family life keeps me busy. I’m often found travelling with my partner and son in our VW California, spending time at home with our Basset Hound and two cats, or making wax melts as part of my small business that I’m really proud of.
