New Patient Journey
Getting To Know You
At NK Active your journey starts with us as soon as you have booked your initial appointment. You will be sent a link to a questionnaire that helps us get to know you better, including why you are coming to see us, your medical history, current circumstances and what you are hoping to achieve from your appointment. We find that the more informed we are beforehand, the better we can make your initial appointment on the day.
Your Initial Appointment
At this appointment we will carry out a full examination, go through your history and complete relevant clinical tests. We will then sit down and discuss the findings. Following this we will recommend a personalised treatment plan that works for you to help you achieve your goals.
Personalised Treatment Plan
At your appointment we will provide you with a written treatment plan itemising our recommendations and the relevant costs. We will also send you a full written report after your appointment, which can be sent to your GP and other relevant medical professionals.
Keeping in Touch
We like to keep in touch with our patients. This allows us to see how you are getting on, check that our treatments are effective and to continuously make improvements to our service. We will send you a survey email at 6, 12 and 18 months following your last appointment with us, as this feedback helps us to shape future services.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to bring a selection of shoes with me?
Bringing the shoes that you use on a regular basis, for both daily wear and sporting activities, is always helpful, as footwear can be a very important part of a foot related problem. It doesn’t matter if you bring too many, we have had people rock up with suitcases before!
Â
We also offer a shoe fitting service, as a surprising number of people wear shoes that are the wrong size.
Â
An interesting fact: did you know that your feet continue to grow, even once you have reached adulthood? An adult foot can still increase by up to 3 sizes throughout your lifetime!
Will I receive treatment on my initial visit?
If you are visiting us in relation to routine care such as corns and calluses, then we would aim to carry out treatment at your initial appointment, providing there is sufficient time.
Â
For MSK appointments relating to muscle and joint injuries, the aim of the initial consultation is to help give you a diagnosis and then formulate a treatment plan that is going to work for you.
What are the prices of the initial appointments
Please get in touch to discuss our prices for appointments.
What happens if I cannot find a suitable slot online?

Why can't I book straight in for a gait analysis?
Whilst it is a very useful tool, not all patients require a Run 3D gait analysis. We prefer to see you for an initial appointment, assess your injuries or issues and then formulate a treatment plan, which may include a gait analysis but may also prioritise other treatments first.
Â
However, if you do not have any pains or injuries, then you can book straight in for our Runner’s MOT, which does include a 3D gait analysis. Please note that this appointment is aimed at people with no current pain or symptom.
