Shockwave Therapy Romsey

Our Services

Shockwave

Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive treatment to help treat tendon and muscle injuries.

It can complement the rehabilitation process and can be helpful in returning to activity more quickly. It is also recommended by The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE).

The aim of shockwave therapy is to kickstart the healing process by delivering high energy acoustic waves to the area requiring treatment.

How we use it in clinic

Combined with a rehabilitation programme, we use shockwave to help reduce pain, so you can progress through the rehabilitation journey quicker.

However, it can be used as a treatment on its own and is particularly helpful in treating Plantar Fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy and Tennis elbow.

There are between 3 and 6 individual sessions and each session is given 1 week a part.

Shockwave Therapy results

We have seen a quicker return to activity in those patients who have received shockwave therapy and we know that patients who have shockwave therapy have experienced reduced pain quicker compared to those who don’t have.

All of our shockwave therapy data has been completed in patients who have undergone an exercise rehabilitation programme alongside the shockwave treatment.
